introducing the stringy bracelet of friendship

braceletThese fun stringy bracelets are so simple to make, and are a super cute way to tell the world that you’re crafty (it’s the rik-rak).
braceletMake your own for yourself and your friends by cutting bits of string, yarn, trimming, etc. about the length of three times around your wrist. Double them over and tie a knot, forming a loop, at the doubled over end. Tie a knot in the loose end and slip it through the loop.

Did you make one? Share it with us with a link to your photo wherever you’ve posted it in the comments, we’d love to see your handiwork!
braceletOr, if you don’t happen to have a drawer full of doo-dads, skip all of the work and buy some of the super cute combos we’ve already made here.

music monday: farmer’s market musicians

On Saturday we rode our bikes up to the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market on the square and found three super great local musicians gracing the crowd with their talent.

farmer's marketThere was this cowboy (above) playing Hank Williams Sr.’s “Your Cheatin’ Heart” which is a favorite of Brooke’s. I like it because it’s easy to play on my ukulele. We did a little jig as we passed him and were on to the next corner where these three (below) were playing smooth jazz! They were Brooke’s favorite becuase, well it’s a three piece band, on the street.

farmer's marketLastly, was this firecracker playing reggae with nothing but his little guitar that is so worn down it has a hole in it. He was my favorite, but I have a soft spot for dreadlocks and skateboarders.

farmer's marketCowboyWhat kind of music is there at your local farmer’s market? Have you ever thought about popping out with your guitar and singing to the world? If so, we think you’re super brave and we’d love to hear about your experiences!

farmer’s market haul

haulAt the Fayetteville Farmers Market Brooke and I picked up: green beans, some super flavorful little onions in red and white, super cool and meaty varieties of sweet bell peppers, and delicious little baby potatoes. Then, my amazing friend brought us a gigantic bag of perfectly ripe blackberries. We are loving the summer market.

What’s great at your market right now? Are you somewhere warm enough to have tomatoes galore? If so we’re jealous!
